What are possible surplus funds?

A property sale may produce proceeds that are applied according to the county's process. If anything remains after required payments, it may be described as surplus or excess proceeds. Some sales leave no surplus at all.

Why a listing is only a starting point

A list or notice does not prove that money is currently held, how much may remain, or who can receive it. Confirm the property, sale, deed, and current county record.

Who may have authority?

The relevant party may be an owner, estate, trust, or entity. Deaths, liens, bankruptcies, disputes, and competing interests can change which records or qualified help are needed.

What should I do next?

Read the current county instructions before gathering sensitive records. For Clark County, use our source-backed guide and compare it with the county's own materials.
